What is Restorative Response?
Restorative Response is a community-driven conferencing option for individuals impacted by sudden and traumatic deaths. Surviving friends and family may feel isolated or have difficulty finding support services. SCV Restorative Justice can offer support through conferencing options with peer-based community members who have been impacted by similar situations.
Restorative Conferencing can be requested by agencies, including schools and religious organizations. Conferencing can offer valuable connections for support and planning for moving forward as a team after a loss.
SCV Restorative Justice will offer a guided process where members of your family will come together to collaborate on solutions built on consensus. Trained mediators provide a setting where reaching an agreement is possible and all participants have the opportunity to voice their concerns. It is a confidential and voluntary process. After an initial session, follow-up can be requested if beneficial. Additional sessions may be planned for if requested by the family.
Service fees may apply to agencies requesting Restorative Response services. Conferencing for surviving families are sponsored by donations from local groups. Services include initial consultation, preparatory meetings and conference.
